The G.R.A.S. 45CB Acoustic Test Fixture is specified and designed to comply with the newly released ANSI/ASA S12.42
standard.

This test fixture will enable you to test all types of hearing-protectors in the most realistic way - both in the acoustic
lab and in the field.

The new standard is unique because it approaches testing of both ear-muffs and ear-plugs - all with the same fixture
properties and testing parameters. This makes comparison straight forward, and no questions are asked when
it comes to the reliability of your test data.

Features include

  • silicone lined inner ear

  • heated inner ear (to body temperature)

  • choice of standard ½" artifical ear or a ¼" artificial ear for very high SPL testing

  • can test 'double' protection - i.e. over-ear protectors on top of insert type protectors simultaneously

  • robust unit, designed for testing with very high impulse sound (e.g. nearby explosions)

The G.R.A.S. 67SB LEMO Blast Probe is also designed to comply with the ANSI/ASA S12.42 standard, which states
that you must monitor the noise source in tests.

The 67SB is equipped with a ⅛" reference microphone that is designed to capture impulsive noises with a very short time resolution.
