SMOOTHING SPECTRAL DATA
"Sometimes data has spikes which are clearly artefacts of the processing or are due to some other external source. One is used to seeing these on time series but in some cases there are unrepresentative "spikes" in the frequency analysed data."

Software for hearing protector selection:
NorProtector

The art of finding the right hearing protector for a given noise situation is no longer an art, just plain work. Our newest software utility uses input data from Nor118 or Nor121 to determine the best hearing protector for the situation. A built-in database compares the octave spectrum measured with hearing protector performance and produces a list of suitable hearing protectors. The database is fully editable by the user.

Compensating windscreen effects

Among the numerous features available in our newest sound level meter, the Nor118 is, of course, the ability to compensate for the effects of using a windscreen. This feature, together with electronic random incidence correction, is available even in the basic version of the instrument.

TIME TO TEST
"The use of Prosig P5600/DATS systems within the NVH Engineering Groups at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn has made it possible to significantly reduce the time needed for the testing and analysis required for NVH target evaluation and development. Improvement factors of greater than 5 have been achieved relative to conventional procedures involving recording data with tape recorders and analyzing the results on laboratory analyzers..."

Measuring construction vehicle noise

Our Construction Vehicle Noise Measurement System is designed for the measurement of noise from construction vehicles based on the use of three synchronised sound level meters.

The system is easy to operate and its design makes the driving sequence less critical than normal in the sense that the driver is not forced to enter the measurement zone from the same side every time.

Often a measurement sequence will consist of several single measurements. During these single measurements the driver may enter either side. In other words there is no such as an entry and an exit light barrier. The first barrier to detect the vehicle will serve as the entry barrier and the second will thus become the exit barrier. Next time these functions may be swapped, if convenient. Download a brochure in PDF format (918kb)...
