The Type 40DD is a 1/8" microphone for very high level and high frequency measurements. Its low sensitivity makes it ideal for measuring very high sound pressure levels of up to 184 dB.
Its small size reduces the disturbances in the sound field, resulting in a frequency range up to 140 kHz.
This microphone is is similar to the Type 40DP but, as a prepolarised condenser microphone, it does not require an external polarisation voltage and can be used with G.R.A.S. CCP* preamplifiers such as the Type 26CB
