Network Switches

- ACRA CONTROL's rugged Ethernet switches are part of the NET-500 range and are specifically designed for the unique requirements experienced by aerospace networks.
- These airborne Ethernet switches are deterministic, reliable and fast due to their hardwired switching design. Their rugged compact form allows them to survive the extreme conditions of aerospace environments.
- Live at power-up, deterministic functionality eliminates boot-up delays and minimizes data loss from power outages.
- ACRA CONTROL' s Xbar architecture facilitates flexible forwarding and filtering configurations e.g. to send data to multiple destinations for real-time monitoring, recording and transmission (currently available on the NET/SWI/003).
- The synchronization of devices across a large distributed network is achieved to within 10s of nanoseconds - even under heavy network traffic conditions.
NET-500 : : Standalone switches
-
Click on images or contact us to learn more about these standalone ethernet switches.
- These Ethernet switches are designed to operate in harsh environments. Up to eight full-duplex Ethernet end nodes can be connected to these switches using CAT5 copper cabling.
- These ethernet switches have a store-and-forward switching architecture; incoming Ethernet frames are stored before they are forwarded out on the egress Ethernet port. Both 802.3 and Ethernet II 802.1Q tagged frames are supported.
- The NET/SWI/001 transparently supports IEEE 1588v1 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) messages, while NET/SWI/003 has an embedded IEEE 1588v1 Precision Time Protocol Grandmaster. This provides a greater degree of synchronization accuracy than would be achieved using a non-1588 switch, even under heavy network traffic conditions.
- Features include:
- Eight-port Ethernet network switch with keyed Mighty Mouse connectors
- 100BaseT or 1000BaseT (NET/SWI/003) or 100BaseT (NET/SWI/001) Fast Ethernet links over copper wiring with auto-MDIX
- Store-and-forward operation
- IEEE 1588v1 support with transparency mode of operation (NET/SWI/001) or Embedded IEEE 1588v1 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Grandmaster and Transparency mode (NET/SWI/003)
- Extended temperature operation (-55 to 105°C)
- Live at power up (static internal routing; no MAC address learning time delays)
- Applications
- Airborne interconnection for data acquisition units and network data recorders in an Ethernet environment
KAM-500 : : Switch modules
-
Click on images or contact us to learn more about these ethernet switch modules.
- These KAM-500 modules are Ethernet switches designed for operating in harsh environments. Up to four full-duplex Ethernet end nodes can be connected to the switch using CAT5 copper cabling.
- These ethernet switches have a store-and-forward switching architecture; incoming Ethernet frames are stored before they are forwarded out on the egress
- Features include:
- Four-port Ethernet network switch (KAD/SWI/101 and KAD/SWI/102) or a Three-port ethernet tap (KAD/SWI/103) using a standard 52-way double-density connector
- 100BaseTX Ethernet links over copper wiring
- Store-and-forward operation
- IEEE 1588v1 support with transparency mode of operation
- Live at power-up (static internal routing; no MAC address learning time delays)
- Applications
- Airborne interconnection for data acquisition units and network data recorders in an Ethernet environment
