Recorders

- ACRA CONTROL manufactures compact, rugged recorders with removable commercial off-the-shelf solid state media. There are products available for plugging directly into a KAM-500 to provide storage without the need for a separate recorder, stand alone IP recorders and multi-role recorders.
- Designed for reliability, the recorder products are live on power-up and ensure minimal data loss during power outages. A PC identifies the media as a FAT32 drive so that the data is instantly accessible with no need for proprietary hardware or software.
- Data files are recorded in the popular open PCAP (packet capture) format. These files are readable by GS Works 7 display and analysis package, as well as many other third party software products.
- This open systems approach, coupled with standard network technologies, ensures a future proof design with a lower cost of ownership.
- Recorders are ready to use out of the box, while configuration changes can be made easily using the intuitive setup software and saved in an open XML format. All recorders can be time synchronized to a range of sources including the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
SSR-500 : : Multi-role recorders

- The SSR-500 is a compact, lightweight, ruggedized recorder with integrated data acquisition. A range of plug-in modules is available, providing interfaces such as A/D conversion, avionic bus monitoring and video compression.
- Built-in inputs include audio and IRIG-B/GPS. A rear panel Ethernet port is provided for setup and real-time monitoring. Control is via a START/STOP switch and an EVENT button or via external start/stop and event inputs or SNMP commands.
- Data is stored to a removable SATA cartridge, currently with capacities of up to 2TB. A PC identifies such removable storage as a FAT32 drive so files are instantly accessible with no need for additional conversion software. Files are in the popular Wireshark® Packet CAPture (PCAP) format and are readable by the GS Works 7 display and analysis package, as well as other third party software products.
- The front panel is designed to be user-friendly with a clean and simple layout. The setup software, Recorder Studio 3, is streamlined for fast configuration, with minimal time required before the system is ready to record.
- Features include:
- Front door housing for removable solid-state drive using SATA interface
- Supports SATA cartridges up to 2TB (128GB industrial grade cartridges currently available)
- Logs Ethernet data at 70Mbps
- Ethernet interface for setup and for acquired data transmission
- Wide range of analog input modules
- Wide range of bus monitor input modules
- Front mounted START/STOP switch to control recording
- Front mounted EVENT button to mark specific events during recording
- Audio (CVSD) inputs as standard
- Choice of GPS/IRIG-B or IEEE 1588v1 Precision Time Protocol time
- Operating range of -40 to 85°C
- Applications
- Data logging
- Data muxing
NET-500 : : Ethernet recorders

- The NET-500 recorders are stand-alone compact, rugged IP recorders. They are available with different Ethernet speeds and storage media and can be combined with KAM-500 DAUs for a powerful distributed recording system.
- The recorders are available in different mounting/display configurations where the program merits the customization of COTS technology and the schedule can accommodate the corresponding lead-times. Incoming Ethernet frames are written to a CompactFlash card using a FAT32 file system.
- The NET-500 ethernet recorders can be configured via the Ethernet port. The Start/Stop switch enables the initiating and terminating of recording, while the Event button enables the marking of key events during the recording process. During recording, the alphanumeric display indicates the memory and recording status of the device including time, status, event counter, and estimated memory remaining capacity.
- Ethernet frames are written directly to files. The recorded files are formatted according to the PCAP file format so that they are viewable with popular network analysis tools such as Wireshark. Recorded data can be read directly from the storage media (either a ruggedised Solid State Drive or a ruggedised CompactFlash card) on a PC with off-the-shelf readers/cables.
- Features include:
- Stand-alone IP network recorder that stores and logs incoming Ethernet packets
- High speed logging
- Uses FAT32 file system
- Stores Ethernet frames in industry standard PCAP (packet capture) files, viewable using Wireshark or another third party application
- Front mounted Start/Stop locked position switch to control recording
- Event button to mark specific events during recording
- Front door housing for removable media
- 100BaseTX Ethernet port
- Front panel status LEDs
- 2 x 16-character alphanumeric display
- Operating range of -40 to 85°C
PCM recorders
- The KAM-500 family includes the KAM/MEM/103 module: is a memory card interface which supports logging to CompactFlash removable memory cards. This module records PCM.
- In addition to the memory module option on-board a KAM-500 chassis, ACRA also offers an extremely compact SSR-500 PCM recorder (SSR/REC/001) which records PCM to CF media - this unit is designed to be located in .
